Mobile Clinical Assistant

Mobile Clinical Assistant

The Mobile Clinical Assistant (MCA) enables TRIL clinical staff to accurately capture results from the assessments. It minimises opportunities for human error and allows the patient data to be automatically centralised, securely backed-up and added to previous assessment records.

The application was designed for the assessments being conducted in the TRIL Clinic during 2010. Each assessment set has its own section. The required data is input directly into the computer and extra annotations and notes can be added with a text input panel.

The application was designed after extensive research and consultation with the clinical team and the software follows the clinical workflow. The MCA tracks each participant around the Clinic as they move between each assessment station. The user interface supports the way that the assessments are organised and facilitates easy and effective work practice for the TRIL Clinic staff.

Using the MCA and software means there is no data entry from paper forms (though a patient assessment form can easily be printed off), assessment scores are calculated by the system and patient data is available at end of day, via TRIL data centre.
