Biography
Brian Lawlor MD, FRCPI, FRCPsych is Conolly Norman Professor of Old Age Psychiatry at TCD and Consultant Psychiatrist in Old Age Psychiatry and Director of the Mercer's Memory Clinic, St. James's Hospital. He has published up to 200 papers in the areas of geriatric psychiatry, Alzheimer's disease, psychopharmacology of cognition and late life depression. His main areas of interest are the psychopharmacology of cognition, strategies to maintain and improve cognition in older people, diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease and late-life depression.
He is Academic Principal Investigator of the social strand of TRIL and is currently exploring the biological, cognitive and health correlates of loneliness, sleep problems and psychological distress in older people.
