Biography
Lisa trained as a general nurse in St. James's in 1991. Most of her experience has been in critical care, spending 12 years in the National Burns unit as acting nurse manager. Lisa also specialised in micropigmentation (tattooing) of burns patients and provided a clinic for burn patients. She worked in coronary care and theatre up to 2007. She was appointed as clinical nurse manager in research July 2007, most of the studies she has been involved with are dementia studies with drug trials. Roskamp/SJH this was a phase 1 drug study in mild to moderate alzheimers disease. In 2009, she co-ordinated the 'Enhancing care in Alzheimers disease' study with Elan/SJH, this involved studying the economic, psychosocial and physical impact of AD on patients and their caregivers.
Lisa also worked on a phase 3 trial looking at the efficacy of Dimebon in patients with moderate to severe alzheimers and before joining TRIL, she completed a 4th phase study involving Glaxo Smith Kline and SJH studying the effects of Donepezil and placebo on EEG/MRI measures in Mild Cognitive Impairment and elderly controls. Lisa also worked in the cognitive studies clinic from August 2007 to December 2009 providing a diagnostic service for clients with suspected dementia. At the moment she is involved in a study with the clinical nurse manager in the memory clinic SJH estimating the validity and reliability of the naturalistic Action Task (NAT) test in patients with mild cognitive impairment. Lisa joined Clodagh on the TRIL project in April 2010.
